Dating a vintage gibson
This guitar has been very well cared for - it looks like it was played for only a short time and then put away in storage.It even has the original flatwound strings in a bag!The Brazilian R9 Les Pauls have been among the most collectable of modern-era guitars.This is a 2003 Gibson Historic 1959/R9 Les Paul in Ice Tea Gloss Finish, Nickel Hardware, Dark Rosewood Fingerboard, and nicely figured top.This impressive guitar incorporates modern enhancements like an ABR-1 bridge with titanium saddles, and a hand-wired MTC control assembly paired to our MHS P-90 pickups with hum-canceling capabilities.The Vintage Style White Oval Button tuners and Thinline Trapeze tailpiece conjure a classic Gibson look.

Since then the guitar’s neck pickup cavity was cleanly routed for the larger Lollar-built Charlie Christian pickup...
This is an NOS(New Old Stock) ES-335 Dot(1959 Reissue) in Cherry Red with Nickel Hardware.
This guitar is much more resonant and the chords ring out with more accurately articulated notes, and the bottom end really stands out!

I think I’ve seen one other factory left-handed Blonde Strat, but certainly not from the Hendrix era(both the white Woodstock and black Band of Gypsies Strats were from 1968).
